Grail #3222 · Primordial · Browse all Grails →
Combined piece: When Uranus is placed on top of Gaia, they form a single unified artwork. See also: Uranus (#7916)
[view source]Cultural Context
Gaia is the Greek primordial goddess of the Earth — mother of the Titans, consort of Uranus (Sky). In Greek cosmogony, Gaia and Uranus are the original pairing from which everything descends. The Gaia and Uranus grails are designed as a combined piece — when Uranus is placed on top of Gaia, they form a single unified artwork, mirroring the cosmological relationship of sky over earth.

[view source]Justification
Gaia and Uranus represent the primordial pairing — earth and sky — that precedes the planetary and zodiac systems in Greek cosmogony.
