[view source]Cultural Context
Beartull is a named character from the Bong Bears collection, a hybrid of bear and turtle reflected in its shell, turtle belly, and the portmanteau name. Bong Bears is one of the foundational NFT collections in the Berachain ecosystem, featuring uniquely designed bear characters on Ethereum's OpenSea platform. The bear-turtle mashup follows a long tradition of animal hybrid characters in animation and toy design, from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Pokemon, where combining two creatures creates a more memorable and collectible character.
