The acid house smiley face is the most recognizable symbol of rave culture, originating from the Second Summer of Love in 1988 Britain. The yellow smiley became synonymous with MDMA-fueled warehouse parties and was adopted as the de facto logo of an entire generation's rebellion against Thatcher-era conservatism.
