[view source]Cultural Context
Clock eyes replace the iris with a timepiece motif, evoking the relationship between perception and temporality. Clock iconography in the eyes references the distorted experience of time under altered states — minutes that stretch into hours on the dance floor, or the compressed urgency of a peak experience. The motif also recalls the clock-eyed characters in surrealist and psychedelic art.
