Red-tinted lenses evoke the heat and low-light intimacy of early Chicago dancefloors. The Warehouse — where Frankie Knuckles built house music from disco, Italo, and drum machines — ran under dim red lighting that made the room feel like the inside of a heartbeat. The color stuck: red became shorthand for that particular Chicago warmth, before house went global and fluorescent.
