Original Mibera (Phase 8)

Odin as Mercury with Huginn and Muninn, caduceus staff
[view source]Cultural Context
Odin is the Norse god of wisdom, knowledge, and death — the Norse equivalent of Mercury/Hermes. Both serve as psychopomps (guides of souls between worlds) and are associated with language and knowledge. The day Wednesday (Old English Wōdnesdæg, "Odin's day") corresponds to Mercury's day in Romance languages (French Mercredi). Huginn and Muninn ("Thought" and "Memory") are Odin's two ravens who fly across the world each day and report back to him. Gungnir is Odin's spear. The caduceus is the staff of Hermes/Mercury.

[view source]Justification
The planet and luminary grails represent the celestial bodies as their own identities — the sources of the energy that the zodiac system channels.
